Russell
Feingold
Senator
Russell Feingold of
Wisconsin
is a likely candidate for president in 2008. He has
called on the Senate to pass a resolution censuring President
Bush for, according to Feingold’s website, “authorizing
the illegal wiretapping program and then misleading the country
about the existence and legality of the program.”
Feingold’s
resolution attempt seems to have fallen on deaf ears in the
Senate, but it has energized the liberal Democratic base.
Feingold
is another in a long list of potential 2008 presidential candidates
with a strong Saturn-Neptune aspect (see
my article on “Saturn, Neptune, and U.S. Presidential
Candidates”). In his horoscope,
Saturn and Neptune are conjunct. He is a Pisces Sun with the
Moon in either Libra or Scorpio, depending on his birth time
(which is currently unknown). The Jupiter-ruled side of his
Pisces Sun can be seen in his emphasis on moral Constitutional
principles. Venus opposes Feingold’s Saturn-Neptune
conjunction. The Venus-Neptune opposition is his closest major
aspect, adding to the caring, principled tone of his horoscope.
Feingold has a “sudden action” Mars-Uranus square.
George
Allen
George
Allen is a former Virginia
governor and is now a Republican senator. His father, also
named George Allen, was a legendary football coach who was
inducted into the pro football Hall of Fame in 2002.
George
Allen is, like Feingold, a Pisces (see
horoscope). We have to go back
to Grover Cleveland in the late 19th Century for
the last Pisces president. George Washington was also a Pisces,
as was Andrew Jackson.
Allen’s
secondary progressed Pluto went stationary direct last year,
about the time he began to receive strong recognition as a
2008 presidential candidate. This is a highly significant
astrological event. In
the first installment of the ABC News Invisible Primary (which
ranks candidates in 19 categories and boasts of its prowess
in forecasting a Kerry-Edwards ticket in 2004),
Allen was in second place behind John McCain. Given Allen's
performance in the Virginia Senate race, he will surely go
downhill in this ranking.
Allen’s
birth time is not known. Like so many other presidential aspirants,
he has a Saturn-Neptune conjunction—this one is opposed
by Jupiter. His Moon and Pluto may be conjunct, depending
on his birth time, and he has a close Venus-Pluto opposition.
This Venus-Pluto aspect (again borrowing from Sue Tompkins)
can make one “emotionally insatiable,” extremely
charming, and knowing just how to please—all in the
pursuit of a position of power.
